Play at Washington Township Little League is governed by rules published by Little League International. WTLL provides rule books to team managers and umpires. You can also
purchase a rule book from Little League.
Most Little League rules mirror
Official Baseball Rules, which can be downloaded for free.
Key differences include:
- The top of the strikezone is the the armpits.
- Runners must maintain contact with their base until the pitch reaches the batter (closed bases) (Major and below)
- Headfirst slides while advancing are illegal (Major and below)
- Any runner is out when the runner does not slide or attempt to get around a fielder who has the ball and is waiting to make the tag.
- Pitchers are subject to pitch count limitations.
Note that there is no "Must Slide" rule.
